There’s a full FA Cup programme on offer this weekend so on Friday we’re a bit limited in terms of ties; in fact there are just two available to select from in Mondogoal’s Friday Freeroll:

  • Everton vs Liverpool (FA Cup)
  • Paris St. Germain vs Bastia

Our Pick (3-4-3)

Goalkeeper Adam Bogdan Liverpool £6.4m
Defender Jose Enrique Liverpool £7.5m
Defender Thiago Silva PSG £11.5m
Defender Layvin Kurzawa PSG £11.7m
Midfielder James Milner Liverpool £8.2m
Midfielder Lee Holmes Exeter City £7.1m
Midfielder Joel Grant Exeter City £4.6m
Midfielder Angel Di Maria PSG £17.3m
Forward Christian Benteke Liverpool £6.8m
Forward Edinson Cavani PSG £9.9m
Forward Francois Kamano Bastia £5.0m
Total Price – £96,800,000

Defence

Things are a little tricky this week where Liverpool are concerned because Jurgan Klopp will almost certainly opt to play an experimental lineup against Exeter City. His injuries are many and he will want to save his most important players for upcoming fixtures against Arsenal and Manchester United.

So our Liverpool picks are something of a punt with Adam Bogdan in goal and Jose Enrique back in defence due to a lack of centre-halfs. PSG’s superstar defenders – Thiago Silva and Layvin Kurzawa – are an easy choice in their fixture against struggling Bastia.

Midfield

We’ve opted for Liverpool’s reliable James Milner in midfield alongside PSG’s Angel di Maria; we’ve taken a punt on an Exeter City duo of Lee Holmes and Joel Grant to free up some money.

Forwards

We’re banking on Christian Benteke to be selected for Liverpool alongside Edinson Cavani for PSG and lastly we’ve taken a gamble on Bastia’s Francois Kamano as a cheap option.
