Albania vs Switzerland Preview

After Friday evening’s opener the first match on Saturday should be a regulation win for Switzerland against an Albania side just pleased to be here. It kicks off at 14:00 and the Swiss are the odds-on favourites to get things off to a flyer. The Swiss have lost three of their last five games but these were friendly matches to reasonable opposition – Albania’s two recent wins have been against Luxembourg and Qatar. Albania do generally score but the Swiss should score more.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Albania  LWLDW  1.25 0.62
Switzerland  LWLLL  2.4 0.8

Picks?

Go for Swiss players from any position and Albanian strikers if you need to fill in the gaps.

Wales vs Slovakia Preview

This looks like one of the tougher opening games and the bookies have these sides level pegging for the win in this 17:00 kick off. Wales have suffered defeats in several pre-tournament friendlies but to some very good sides so we shouldn’t read much into those results; for their part Slovakia are undefeated in eight games and can draw some confidence from a 3-1 win away in Germany.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Wales  LLDLW  1.1 0.4
Slovakia DWWDD 1.7 0.8

Picks?

This could be a midfield battle and a game of few goals which suggests midfielders and defenders from both sides; Gareth Bale is decent value if you fancy him to bag a solo effort in the cause.

England vs Russia Preview

The 20:00 kick off is where England step into the picture and they must face Russia in this final game of the day; England are odds-on to win this match after a perfect qualifying tournament but there are still questions about their defence and the Russians could score a goal if they’ve done their homework. We should be confident that England should score more however.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
England  WWWLW 3.1 0.3
Russia  DLLWL  2.1 0.5

Picks?

We like the look of England midfielders and strikers although experience tells us that Russia could see plenty of the ball; consider Russian midfielders also.
