Hull City vs Sheffield Wednesday Preview

It’s the Play Off Final and the game which will propel one of these clubs up into mega-riches of the Premier League. Hull City are marginally favourites and finished the league season nine points ahead of Wednesday but there’s not much to go on in these games and we wouldn’t confidently like to predict a winner. Both teams score about 1.5 goals per game but Hull are slightly better defensively – 0.77 compared to 0.96. Wednesday have been the surprise package of this Championship season but if pushed we would go for a Hull win.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Hull LWWLW 1.50 0.77
Wednesday  DWLWD 1.44 0.96

Picks?

We’ll hedge our bets by picking one player from each position from either side and hope for the best.

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid Preview

This is the culmination of all those weeks of European football and it takes place between two teams from Madrid at the San Siro in Milan. Real have played some fantastic stuff to make it to the final while Atletico have ground out some impressive victories, not least against Barcelona, to progress to the final. Nevertheless this looks like the stage on which Ronaldo and his teammates will rise to the occasion and lift the trophy. It’s essentially their prolific attack (2.89 per game) against Atletico’s solid defence (0.47 per match). Let’s see what happens.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Real WWWWD 2.89 0.89
Atletico  WLLWW 1.66 0.47

Picks?

Real are going to see loads of the ball in midfield so anyone from the middle of the park is a good choice. If you can afford Ronaldo use him and for a risky but potentially lucrative choice, go for Atletico defenders who will make plenty of tackles and saves in the hunt for a clean sheet.
