West Ham vs Arsenal Preview

This is definitely one of the games of the weekend as West Ham host their North London rivals in a top six battle. West Ham are unbeaten in fifteen games at home, average almost two goals a game on their own turf and are looking to break into the Premier League top five. Arsenal have won two of the last four away from home in the league and average almost two goals per game on the road.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
West Ham (home)  DWWWW  1.60  1.07
Arsenal (away) WLWDL  1.81  1.25

Picks?

There should be goals at both ends in this match so avoid defenders; it will be a midfield battle and Arsenal; won’t have their usual dominance in that area. Dmitri Payet is always a reliable but expensive choice and the same goes for Mezut Ozil for Arsenal.

Aston Villa vs Bournemouth Preview

Aston Villa are absolutely awful and are definitely going down but you have to believe that sooner or later they will earn a point at home against one of the smaller clubs. Will this be it? It’s difficult to say for sure but this is an opportunity. Villa have lost four on the trot at home, conceding 15 and scoring just 1. Bournemouth we’re beaten 3-0 in their last outing at Spurs but had not been beaten on the road in seven games prior to that.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Aston Villa (home)  LLLLW  0.69 1.81
Bournemouth (away)  LWDWW  1.12  1.69

Picks?

Don’t pick any Villa players, there really is no point but we always like Bournemouth’s Charlie Daniels – he’s a solid defender who takes set pieces as well.

Crystal Palace vs Norwich City Preview

This is a near-the-bottom-of-the-table clash but it’s Norwich who enter the tie in the better form; the Canaries have won their last two games but over the season have been poor on the road, losing 11 of the last 12. Palace are on a dreadful run at the moment and have lost their last four home games but they do usually score.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Crystal Palace (home)  LLLLW  1.00  1.38
Norwich (away)  WLLLL  0.81  2.00

Picks?

If you need some cheap defenders then this could be worth a look, we don’t anticipate too may goals in this match so avoid any expensive upfield players.

Southampton vs Newcastle United Preview

Southampton vs Newcastle is a match which looks like a clear home win on paper but Newcastle are fighting for Premier League survival and there are some odd results at this time of year. Still we have to go with the odds and the Saints have won four of their last six home games, scoring 11 and conceding just 2. Newcastle are without a league win away from home in nine games and have scored four goals during that time.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Southampton (home stats)  WDLWW  1.75  0.81
Newcastle (away stats)  LLLWL  0.56  2.25

Picks?

Go for high-scoring Southampton players in any position but if you’re keen on a Newcastle selection, midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum always manages to score points.

Swansea City vs Chelsea Preview

Statistically Swansea City look to be on a reasonable home run at the moment but their last two wins were against Aston Villa and Norwich City. The Swans are just about averaging one goal per game but we would struggle to predict a third home win in a row against Chelsea. The visitors may have written off this season but they are unbeaten on the road in the league in seven games, averaging about two goals per game in that period.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Swansea (home)  WWLDW  0.94  1.33
Chelsea (away)  WLWWL  0.67  1.13

Picks?

We fancy a Chelsea win and clean sheet here so players from the away team are our pick for sure. Try Cesc Fabregas and Willian in midfield, Diego Costa up front and Cesar Azpilicueta in defence.

Watford vs Everton Preview

This is a mid-table clash between two teams in shaky form; Watford have lost their last four and Everton have lost four our of five. Watford have also lost the last two home games and scored only two goals in five matches at Vicarage Road. Everton are better away from home with four wins from the last five and have been better then the ‘goals scored’ stats below would suggest.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Watford (home)  DWWWD  1.93  0.93
Everton (away)  LDDLL  0.67  1.40

Picks?

We’re going for Everton here as they look to recover from a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford last weekend; Steer clear of Watford players but look for Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

Manchester City vs West Bromwich Albion Preview

Fresh from a decent result against PSG in the Champions League, City should be fired up for this winnable game against WBA. They also have the added incentive of staying in the top four and above their cross-City rivals who beat them 1 – 0 at the Etihad Stadium in their last Premier League game. Arguably West Brom already have one foot on the plane to the Bahamas but Tony Pulis will be working hard to avoid any of that.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Man City (home)  LDWLL  2.44  1.13
West Brom (away)  DDLWW  1.19  0.73

Picks?

This has to be a clear home win, but not necessarily a clean sheet for City so go for midfielders and strikers from the home team. Avoid West Brom players.
