FC Dallas vs Portland Timbers Preview

After ten games in the Western Conference there’s some clear daylight between these two teams with Dallas up in fourth place and Portland struggling in ninth, second from bottom. Dallas are unbeaten at home so far and they host a Portland team yet to win on the road. The visitors can rely on exactly one goal per game but they concede more and that’s an issue; Dallas average almost two goals per game on their own turf.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
FC Dallas (home)  WDDWW  1.80 0.80
Portland (away)  LDDLL  1.00 2.00

Picks?

Strikers and midfielders from Dallas but bear in mind that Portland always score so treat defenders from both sides with caution.

San Jose Earthquakes vs Houston Dynamo Preview

This match looks like a homer if ever there was one – San Jose are strong at home with four wins from five so far and they face a Houston side with four straight defeats on the road. The home team has conceded just two goals so far at home and should be confident of another clean sheet on Thursday morning.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
San Jose (home)  WWDWW  1.11 1.11
Houston (away)  LLLLL 1.33 1.22

Picks?

Players from any position from San Jose but we would avoid Houston players until they get their act together away from home.

Colorado Rapids vs Kansas City Preview

Here’s another homer for the records – Colorado are the league leaders of the Western Conference after five games at home and five wins. Kansas are mid-table with three defeats from the last four away from home and their only win on the first day of the season.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Colorado (home)  WWWWW 1.60 0.40
Kansas (away) LDLLW 0.83 1.00

Picks?

This should be a clean sheet for the home team against a Kansas team struggling for goals on the road but we don’t see too many goals in this match overall. Go for Colorado defenders and midfielders.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs Chicago Fire Preview

Chicago are playing catch-up with their games away from home so it’s a little difficult to predict what might happen when they visit Vancouver on Thursday morning. This season they have a 1-1 and a 0-0 draw on the road and they visit a Vancouver team unbeaten at home so far. This should be a draw or a home win.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Vancouver (home)  WLDWL 1.50 0.83
Chicago (away) DDLLL 0.50 0.50

Picks?

Go for players from any position from the home team but we’re inclined to steer clear of Chicago players at the moment.
