Every day we bring you what we think are some sensible selection options based on today’s upcoming matches; we’re not going to promise that these are guaranteed winners because if we could do that we’d all be millionaires by now. These players are all solid picks based on recent stats and their next opponents so check them out.

It’s all about the Champions League tonight and we are looking forward to the following matches:

  • Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb
  • Lyon vs KAA Gent
  • FC Porto vs Dynamo Kyiv
  • Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Chelsea
  • Barcelona vs Roma
  • Bayern Munich vs Olympiakos
Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo Barcelona £9.9M
Defender Jerome Boateng Bayern Munich £9.6M
Defender M. Yanga-Mbiwa Lyon £7.4M
Defender Kieran Gibbs Arsenal £8.3M
Midfielder Santi Cazorla Arsenal £11.8M
Midfielder Willian Chelsea £10.8M
Midfielder Cesc Fabregas Chelsea £9.1M
Midfielder Mathieu Flamini Arsenal £5.3M
Midfielder Junior Fernandes Dinamo Zagreb £4.5M
Forward Joel Campbell Arsenal £5.1M
Forward Luis Suarez Barcelona £17.9M
Total Price – £99,700,000

We’ve picked a couple of superstars here so have had to cut our cloth according to the hefty dents in the salary. Luis Suarez and Claudio Bravo are drafted in from Barcelona following their dominant 4 – 0 win over Real Madrid last weekend leaving just over £80M for the remaining nine players.

The  defence consists of Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng; Bayern need a draw to qualify for the next round and should manage a clean sheet against Olympiakos. Lyon’s Yanga-Mbiwa is a risky choice as the French side have no chance of qualifying but we fancy a clean sheet against Gent tonight.

Arsenal’s injury problems mean there are some cheap options likely to play this evening in their must-win match against Dinamo Zagreb – Kieren Gibbs (who may play an attacking role), Matheiu Flamini and Joel Campbell – as well as the regular points scorer Santi Cazorla.

To complete the midfield Willian and Cesc Fabregas will be looking to ease Chelsea through to the next round against Maccabi Tel Aviv and up front we have Suarez along with Junior Fernandes from Dinamo; Fernandes likes to get stuck in and has earned a few points despite his teams poor scoring record in this campaign.
