Every day we bring you what we think are some sensible selection options based on today’s upcoming matches; we’re not going to promise that these are guaranteed winners because if we could do that we’d all be millionaires by now. These players are all solid picks based on recent stats and their next opponents so check them out.

It’s slim pickings in the world of Fantasy Football tonight with just two matches to pick from and they’re both a bit tricky to predict:

  • Hull City vs Reading (Championship)
  • Whitehawk vs Dagenham & Redbridge (FA Cup)

Our Pick

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor Hull City £7.7m
Defender Paul McShane Reading £7.5m
Defender Curtis Davies Hull City £7.3m
Defender Lee Hills Whitehawk £7.0m
Midfielder A. Elmohamady Hull City £9.4m
Midfielder Oliver Norwood Reading £9.3m
Midfielder Danny Williams Reading £7.8m
Midfielder Andre Boucaud Dagenham & Redbridge £6.1m
Forward Adama Diomande Hull City £14.3m
Forward Matej Vydra Reading £7.2m
Forward Jake Robinson Whitehawk £5.8m
Total Price – £89,400,000

It’s certainly a tricky pick tonight with just the two matches to from which to select; the selection problem is compounded by us not knowing too much about Whitehawk so we’re relying somewhat on the bookies observations about that match.

Hull City are the obvious choice for a home win against Reading to night (the Royals have lost three in a row and won just once in nine) so we’ve picked a spine from the Tigers including Allan McGregor, Curtis Davies, Elmohamady and Adama Diomande. However we expect Reading to have perked up a bit following the sacking of Steve Clarke so our four Reading inclusions are Paul McShane, Oliver Norwood, Danny Williams and then Matej Vydra up front (who will surely discover his shooting boots sooner rather than later).

That leaves us with a defensive position to fill (Whitehawk’s Lee Hills), a midfielder (Andre Boucard, Dag & Red) and a striker (Jake Robinson, Whitehawk). Let’s see what happens!
