Italy vs Spain Preview
It seems a shame that after this match either Italy or Spain will be going home while less talented teams such as England or Iceland will progress to the next round. However that’s the way this tournament works so we just need to predict where to find some points from this fixture. It looks a straight fight between Spanish possession and Italian defending/counter-attacking. The Italians will have watched the Spanish defeat by Croatia but likewise they themselves were beaten 1-0 by a spirited Republic of Ireland side. This should be a close match of few goals.

Italy | LWWWW | 1 | 0.33 |
Spain | LWWLW | 1.67 | 0.67 |
Picks?
Go for Spanish midfielders and Italian defenders.
England vs Iceland Preview
Although matches involving England are rarely enjoyable or straightforward, this really should be an England win and the bookies tend to agree. The Icelanders have been superb so far in their relatively limited way but as England fans we hope to eventually see a performance worthy of a major competition – let’s hope this is it. England will once again have to break down a stubborn defence but they are generally well-prepared for the counter-attack. Rooney must be the man to provide the creativity for the strikers.

England | DWDWW | 1 | 0.67 |
Iceland | WDDWL | 1.33 | 1 |
Picks?
Call it misjudged patriotism but we have to go for England players from all positions; you may need some Icelanders though to fill in the gaps.
