Crystal Palace vs WBA Preview
Crystal Palace and WBA ended last season in 15th and 14th places respectively and the bookies are slightly inclined towards a home win here. It’s a tricky prediction at this early stage but we’re inclined to agree that the Londoners will prevail in this season opener at Selhurst Park.

Picks?
Go for Crystal Palace players if you need to fill out your squad after some more obvious choices.
Southampton vs Watford Preview
Southampton have what looks like one of the easier opening matches as they host Watford at the St Mary’s Stadium. The Saints managed a superb 6th place last season and will want to get off to a good start against a Watford side who have a new manager in Walter Mazzarri but finished in the bottom half of the table.

Picks?
Pick players from any position from Southampton – avoid Watford players.
Middlesbrough vs Stoke City Preview
Newly-promoted Middlesbrough go into this match with Stoke City as favourites which seems quite surprising to us. Stoke finished in a solid 9th place and although they’ve made no significant signings they should be a match for Boro. Boro may be lifted by several decent signings (mostly from Spain) but this looks like a tricky tie.

Picks?
We think this could be a nil nil or a low scoring draw so think about defenders from either side.
Everton vs Spurs Preview
Everton’s new manager Ronald Koeman will need to have his team very well prepared for the visit of Spurs on Saturday and it will be interesting to see how differently Everton are set up under the Dutchman. Spurs are narrow favourites for the win and for us this is too close to call – a draw may be the likely result but we feel there may be goals.

Burnley vs Swansea City Preview
There won’t be any easy games for Burnley this season but this is an ideal opportunity to get off to a winning (or at least ‘not losing’) start. The bookies make than narrow favourites and they will have to use the home crowd to get the job done here against a Swansea side who managed a mid-table finish last season.
