Manchester United vs Leicester City Preview
Two league defeats in a row means that Manchester United have dropped out of the top four and are now in seventh place, just two points ahead of Leicester City. United are in a slight spot of bother but it’s still the early days of Jose Mourinho’s tenure and there’s time to get things right. Leicester had a confidence-boosting 3-0 win against Burnley last weekend and will be approaching this match with their usual hard-working attitude. The home time are odds-on for the win but we don’t think this is a home banker by any means – nil nil anyone?
Picks?
It’s difficult to predict the result here but United will have loads of possession so their midfielders will be on our list.
Bournemouth vs Everton Preview
Everton are looking good in second place and make the long trip to Bournemouth on Saturday; the Toffees have won the last four games, scoring seven and conceding just one in the process while the Cherries are fourth from bottom following a 4-0 defeat at Man City last weekend. Eddie Howe’s side tend to be good at home though and we think a draw is possible, although an away win is more likely.
Picks?
Romelu Lukaku is scoring plenty of goals but go for Everton players in general.
Liverpool vs Hull City Preview
This should be a home banker for a Liverpool team who are starting to get to grips with Jurgen Klopps’s methods and have risen to sixth in the league after recent wins against Leicester and Liverpool. They face a Hull City team who have lost two and drawn one of the last three games to dent a decent start to the season.
Picks?
There should be some goals here so go for Liverpool players from all positions, especially midfielders and strikers.
Middlesbrough vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview
Spurs are up to third in the league after a decent start to the season although (Everton excepted) they are yet to play any really good sides. Two defeats have seen Middlesbrough drop into mid-table after a decent start to the season and the stats would suggest either a draw or an away win in this fixture.
Picks?
Spurs should have plenty of possession and goal attempts so go for their defenders and midfielders.
Stoke City vs WBA Preview
Things are already looking bleak for Stoke City and they find themselves bottom of the league with one point from five games; they’ve conceded eight goals in the last two games, conceding just one. On Saturday they face a West Brom side who are in mid-table after a solid 4-2 win against West Ham. Stoke surely can’t get much worse so there may be an opportunity for at least a draw here but it’s a difficult one to predict.
Picks?
Steer clear of players from this fixture.
Sunderland vs Crystal Palace Hotspur Preview
Sunderland have also gained just one point from five games under David Moyes and on Saturday face a Crystal Palace team in a decent mood after two wins in two games; it’s still an away game for Palace though and as with the Stoke vs WBA game there’s an opportunity for a draw for the home team although they will have to find way to score after two games without managing a goal.
Picks?
We fancy a clean sheet for the visitors so go for Palace defenders.
Swansea City vs Manchester City Preview
Five wins in five in the league has seen Manchester City move two points clear at the top of the league, scoring fifteen goals in the process and looking very impressive. They visit Swansea City who have managed just one point from four games and will not be looking forward to this match.
Picks?
Swansea are capable of scoring but this looks like a sixth straight win for Man City ultimately so go for midfielders and strikers from Pep’s team.
Arsenal vs Chelsea Preview
Arsenal vs Chelsea should be a cracking match with opportunities for goals at both ends; these teams are fourth and fifth respectively and both need three points to remain in tough with the league’s top to teams but both have also shown some vulnerabilities, especially Chelsea in their recent 2-1 defeat at home to Liverpool.
Picks?
We can’t see a clean sheet for either side but we’ll be going for midfielders and strikers from both teams.
