Montreal City vs New York City FC Preview

These two teams are both in form in the Eastern Conference with New York top of the table and ahead of fourth placed Montreal by just four points. Although they lost their last game 3-1 away at Kansas, New York were undefeated in their four previous road trips, winning four of those games with three clean sheets along the way. For their part Montreal have lost just one home match this season, winning four and drawing three. They average two goals per game at the Stade Saputo but tend to concede also. New York are quite capable of scoring on the road so we could see several goals here.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Montreal WDWDD 2.00 1.38
New York City  LWWDW 1.67 1.44

Go for midfielders and strikers from both teams, avoid defenders unless absolutely necessary.

Philadelphia Union vs New York Red Bulls Preview

This is another Eastern Conference match pitting second placed Philadelphia against third placed New York Red Bulls and a win for the home team could see them top the table. Philadelphia are certainly strong at home with just one defeat this season but wins in four of the last five games at the Talen Energy Stadium. They always score at home and average more than two goals per game. New York may be in third but it’s not because of their away form – just one win away all season and seven defeats in ten on the road mean we fancy a home win.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Philadelphia WLWWW 2.30 1.20
New York RB LDLWL 1.10 1.60

Go for Philadelphia players from all positions, avoid NY.
