Portland Timbers vs Kansas City Preview

This could be described as a mid-table clash in the Western Conference and it looks like being a game which proves the theory that home form is everything in the MLS. Portland are three places below Kansas in the league but their home form is much better than their opponents away form, despite a 2-1 defeat to LA Galaxy last time out. Portland always score goals and they know how to win at home; Kansas are without a win in nine away games and have scored just two goals in the last six outings.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Portland LWDWW 2.00 1.50
Kansas  LLDDL 0.64 1.00

Go for Portland players, especially defenders, but avoid Kansas players.

LA Galaxy vs New York Red Bulls Preview

This game is a fixture between the third placed teams in the Western and Eastern Conferences and once more the likely outcome will be a home win for the Galaxy. LA are unbeaten at home so far this season with an impressive six wins from ten league games. Their one issue is that their scoring rate has slowed considerably since the early part of the season but two back to back wins at the Stubhub Center and no goals conceded in four matches is a god omen. The Red Bulls are without an away win since their 7-0 drubbing of New York City – they’ll put up a fight but will lose in the end.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
LA WWDDD 2.10 0.80
NY DDLDL 1.25 1.67

Go for players from any position from LA – none from NY.

Orlando City vs Seattle Sounders  Preview

Orlando from the Eastern Conference host Seattle from the Western Conference and it’s the home team who are bringing the better form into this game. Orlando are unbeaten at home in the league so far this season they score plenty of goals at the Camping World Stadium and they face a Seattle team who’ve lost all but three of their away games this campaign, including the last three.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Orlando WDWDD 2.00 1.36
Seattle LLDLW 0.80 1.90

This should be a regulation win for the home team so pick players from any position from Orlando.
