USA vs Costa Rica Preview
The hosts got off to a bad start with a 2-0 defeat to Colombia and will now need a confidence-building win against Costa Rica to get things back on track. They should achieve this reasonably comfortably and we expect a win to zero against a Costa Rica side who earned a creditable draw against Paraguay in the first game. Before the Colombia game the USA had four wins on the trot, scoring ten goals and conceding just three; Costa Rica should not prove a problem for the Americans and failed to score in their opening match.

USA | LWWWW | 2.00 | 0.75 |
Costa Rica | DWWDL | 1.75 | 0.5 |
Picks?
We have a feeling this could be a nervy, narrow win for the USA with a possible 1-0 scoreline. We would go for USA players from any position, especially defenders and midfielders.
Colombia vs Paraguay Preview
Colombia are the only team to have won in Group A and should take a big step towards qualification for the knockout stages with a win against Paraguay. They are currently the third ranked team in the world with Paraguay down in 44th place. Those rankings can lie of course but there is a definite gap in quality here and we expect a comfortable win to zero from the home team against a team who have drawn three of the last four.

Colombia | WWWWL | 1.50 | 1.33 |
Paraguay | DLDDW | 1.17 | 1.00 |
Picks?
It has to be Colombia players from any position but if you need to fill in the gaps go for Paraguay midfielders.
