Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona Preview

In a very entertaining 1st leg match, Atletico took the lead at the Nou Camp before Fernando Torres received a red card and they conceded two goals. The game proved that Atletico know how to take on the superstars but it will still be tough to progress to the next round. Barca are prolific scorers home and away although they are up against a defence that concedes just one goal every two games at home and just one in the last four matches. An early goal for Barcelona will open this game up but a solid counter-attacking performance from Atletico could make things interesting.

Form Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Atletico Madrid (home)  WWWWD  1.73 0.47
Barcelona (away stats) WLLWW  2.00 0.94

Barcelona will have a massive amount of possession in this match so any midfielders are good along with defenders and strikers; if you have faith in Atletico’s counter-attacking than Antoine Griezmann always scores points.

Benfica vs Bayern Munich Preview

In a very tight first leg match, Bayern scored a single goal to earn a 1-0 victory over a well-organised Benfica team. The Portuguese will have to a bit more open in the return leg and that should allow Bayern to express themselves with a little more ease. We expect the German to finish the job here and so do the bookies.

Form Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Benfica (home)  WWWWL 3.21 0.79
Bayern Munich (away stats)  WWDWD 1.67 0.53

Any players from Bayern are the aim here so get what you can afford; avoid Benfica defenders but you may need cheaper upfield players to make up the numbers.
