Dundalk vs Legia Warsaw Preview

This game pits the champions of the Republic of Ireland against the champions of the Polish league and it’s the Polish side who will be looking for a decent result against a Dundalk team on a two-match losing streak. This is a step up in class for the Irish but they’ll take some confidence from the fact that Legia have also lost their last two games and are without a win in four. The Poles are also struggling to score.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Dundalk  WDWWW  1.89 0.89
Legia Warsaw LLWWD 1.50 1.50

There’s a chance here for the Irish but we’re inclined towards a low-scoring draw or an away win so pick your team accordingly.

Celtic vs Hapoel Be’er Sheva Preview

Celtic are strong favourites at home against the Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva and the bookies are justified in setting those starting prices. The Israelis have yet to start their league season and are relying on various cup matches to retain their fitness and sharpness. Celtic are notorious for making life difficult for themselves in these early Champions League stages but if they play to their potential should be good enough for a win to nil here.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded
Celtic WWLWW  2.50 0.50
Hapoel WWDDW 0.00 0.00

If you need pick players from this fixture, go for Celtic ones.

FC Porto vs Roma Preview

This fixture is a heavyweight one which would be more suited to the later stages of the Champions League and it’s the Italians who are narrow favourites against the Portuguese. Porto have played just one league match and Roma none so this is a difficult one to predict in terms of league form but Roma have shown some decent results in pre-season.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded

We’re looking for a narrow win for Roma so go for players from the visitors.

Villareal vs Monaco Preview

Villareal take on Monaco on Wednesday evening and this is another match which would grace the later stages of this competition; Monaco are not perhaps the strongest at the moment and Villareal are deservedly the bookies favourites but it’s difficult to be too confident about a prediction when, as with the previous fixture, the domestic leagues have hardly started yet.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded

Go for Villareal players from any position and avoid those from Monaco.

Ludogorets vs Viktoria Plzen Preview

Here we have the Bulgarian champions Ludogorets against the Czechs Viktoria Plzen and as far as the bookies are concerned this should be a home win with something to spare. Ludogorets haven’t made the best start to their domestic season with one win and one defeat but they should be too strong for the Bulgarians.

Form All Games Last 5  Average Goals Scored  Average Goals Conceded

We should see some goals in this match so go for players from the home team especially midfielders and strikers.
