Paranaense vs Chapecoense Preview
Atletico PR go into this match following four straight home wins which has moved them up to sixth place in the table; those games have seen seven goals scored and just one conceded. On Wednesday they face a Chapecoense side in mid-table but with a decent record away from home, although they lost their last match away at Gremio.
Picks?
This should be a home win and a clean sheet so go for Paranaense players from all positions.
Vitoria vs Gremio Preview
Vitoria and Gremio both occupy mid-table positions two-thirds of the way through the season; Vitoria’s home form is certainly patchy but the good news for them is that their opponents have lost five on the trot away from home and have failed to score in the last three.
Picks?
Again this is a game from which we’ll be picking players from the home team from all positions.
Corinthians vs Atletico Mineiro Preview
Corinthians are enduring a some patchy form at the moment with two defeats in a row at home and it’s dropped them down to 7th place in the table, a hefty 11 points behind their opponents Atletico Mineiro. Atletico can take some confidence from four points from their last two away games, one of which was a 2-1 win against a solid Ponte Preta outfit.
Picks?
Difficult prediction this but go for Atletico players if you need any fillers.
Santos vs Fluminense Preview
This is probably the standout tie on Wednesday evening as 4th placed Santos host 5th placed Fluminense at the Estadio Urbana Caldera; Santos are in good form at home (three wins in a row) and Fluminense are not bad on the road (three wins out of four and three clean sheets). This is match between Santos’ high scorers and the visitors very solid defence and a tricky one to call.
Picks?
It may be worth covering our bases by picking Santos scorers and Fluminense defenders – risky though.
Sport Recife vs Sao Paolo Preview
This match takes place mush further down the league with 14th placed Sport Recife hosting Sao Paulo; Recife will take plenty of confidence from their relatively good home form (three wins and one defeat in five) and Sao Paulo’s record of three defeats in a row and just one goal scored away from home.
Picks?
Go for Recife players from all positions and avoid those from Sao Paulo.
