Every day we bring you what we think are some sensible selection options based on today’s upcoming matches; we’re not going to promise that these are guaranteed winners because if we could do that we’d all be millionaires by now. These players are all solid picks based on recent stats and their next opponents so check them out.
There’s very little in the way of football on Monday evening but in the UK we have what should be a decent a Championship fixture to look forward to while in Spain’s La Liga there’s a bottom-of-the-table clash to enjoy.
- Levante vs Las Palmas
- Burnley vs Derby County
|Defender||Javier Garrido||Las Palmas||£6.9m|
|Midfielder||Jonathan Viera||Las Palmas||£11.7m|
|Midfielder||Tom Ince||Derby County||£8.9m|
|Midfielder||Vicente Gomez||Las Palmas||£8.6m|
|Forward||Nick Blackman||Derby County||£8.7|
Levante are marooned at the foot of La Liga after six defeats in eight and they travel to Las Palmas, four points better off but with just one win in five. In the Championship we’re heading to the other end of the table where fifth-placed Burnley host fourth-placed Derby County. Burnley have won three of the last four, scoring 12 and conceding just 1 while Derby are without a win in four games.
Burnley have conceded just one goal in four game so it seems to make sense to have keeper Tom Heaton and Stephan Ward at the back; they are joined by Tono from Levante and Ivan Lopez from Las Palmas.
In our four man midfield we’re relying on points from Derby’s Tom Ince and Burnley’s Scott Arfield although Las Palmas’ Jonathan Viera has scored plenty of points recently; Vicente Gomez has also been consistent without being spectacular.
Burnley’s Andre Gray is the Championship’s leading goalscorer and he lines up alongside Levante’s Morales (that’s a punt) and Nick Blackman from Derby County.
