Every day we bring you what we think are some sensible selection options based on today’s upcoming matches; we’re not going to promise that these are guaranteed winners because if we could do that we’d all be millionaires by now. These players are all solid picks based on recent stats and their next opponents so check them out.
There are six Premier League matches taking place on Saturday but we’re entering Mondogoal’s Late Start Freeroll which features the following five matches:
- Crystal Palace vs Southampton
- West Ham vs Stoke City
- Bournemouth vs Manchester United
- Manchester City vs Swansea
- Sunderland vs Watford
Our Pick
Goalkeeper | Joe Hart | Man City | £6.9m |
Defender | Aleksander Kolarov | Man City | £9.0m |
Defender | Simon Francis | Bournemouth | £7.4m |
Defender | Scott Dann | Crystal Palace | £7.9m |
Midfielder | Daley Blind | Man United | £8.6m |
Midfielder | Yohan Cabaye | Crystal Palace | £6.9m |
Midfielder | Mark Noble | West Ham | £6.3m |
Midfielder | Kevin De Bruyne | Man City | £14.1m |
Forward | Odion Ighalo | Watford | £11.5m |
Forward | Sergio Aguero | Man City | £12.9m |
Forward | Jermain Defoe | Sunderland | £8.2m |
From the five matches listed above it looks like the only banker is Manchester City’s home match against Swansea; the Swans have dispensed with their manager and are without a win in 12 games. City will be looking to get back to winning ways in the league after a disappointing loss away at Stoke City so we’ve included Joe Hart in goal, Kolarov in defence, De Bruyne in midfield and Sergio Aguero up front – not too shabby.
Simon Francis (Bournemouth) and Scott Dann (Crystal Palace) are slightly riskier prospects but palace are strong at home and Man United are not the fearsome prospect they once were.
We have three solid points gatherers in midfield – Daley Blind (Man United), Yohan Cabaye (Palace), Mark Noble (West Ham) and these are complemented by a forward line of Watford’s high-scoring Odion Aghalo (against Sunderland) and Sunderland’s only points-scorer Jermain Defoe.
