Every day we bring you what we think are some sensible selection options based on today’s upcoming matches; we’re not going to promise that these are guaranteed winners because if we could do that we’d all be millionaires by now. These players are all solid picks based on recent stats and their next opponents so check them out.
There are six matches in the Premier League on Saturday:
- Aston Villa vs Watford
- Bournemouth vs Everton
- Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United
- Man City vs Southampton
- Sunderland vs Stoke City
- Leicester City vs Man Utd
Our Pick
Goalkeeper | Willy Caballero | Manchester City | £5.6M |
Defender | Scott Dann | Crystal Palace | £7.1M |
Defender | Aleksander Kolarov | Manchester City | £8.5M |
Defender | John Stones | Everton | £7.5M |
Midfielder | David Silva | Manchester City | £13.3M |
Midfielder | Daley Blind | Manchester United | £8.0M |
Midfielder | Marc Albrighton | Leicester City | £6.2M |
Midfielder | Juan Mata | Manchester United | £11.2M |
Forward | Aroune Kone | Everton | £5.6M |
Forward | Jamie Vardy | Leicester City | £11.4M |
Forward | Sergio Aguero | Manchester City | £14.7M |
The home banker for us this week looks like Manchester City vs Southampton so we’ve settled on a spine of City players – bargain buy Caballero (who replaces the injured Joe Hart), Kolarov, Silva (should slight but a slight risk there) and Aguero. There’s an element of putting all our eggs in one basket here but we’re pretty happy that – City will want to bounce back after the 4 – 1 loss at home to Liverpool and the 1 – 0 away to Juventus.
Scott Dann (Crystal Palace) and John Stones (Everton) make up the remaining defensive positions and should gain some points in their respective matches against the lacklustre Newcastle United and second-from-bottom Bournemouth.
The big match is Saturday evening’s tie between Leicester City and Manchester United and we feel like there’s goals in this game, hence no defenders from either team. Jamie Vardy up front and Marc Albrighton in midfield will always score points for the Foxes while Juan Mata and Daley Blind should do likewise for the Reds.
The surprisingly cheap Aroune Kone completes our forward line and will be looking to get on the scoresheet against Bournemouth.
