After a busy FA Cup weekend we’re quickly back to Premier League action on Tuesday and Wednesday evening and tonight there are three matches from which to pick – this selection is for Mondogoal’s Tuesday freeroll:

  • Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace
  • Bournemouth vs West Ham
  • Newcastle United vs Manchester United

Our Pick (3-4-3)

Goalkeeper David de Gea Manchester United £7.8m
Defender Charlie Daniels Bournemouth £8.9m
Defender Chris Smalling Manchester United £7.8m
Defender Aaron Cresswell West Ham £8.6m
Midfielder Yohan Cabaye Crystal Palace £7.1m
Midfielder Matt Ritchie Bournemouth £9.4m
Midfielder Dmitri Payet West Ham £12.2m
Midfielder Juan Mata Manchester United £9.7m
Forward Andy Carroll West Ham £6.7m
Forward Jordan Ayew Aston Villa £7.6m
Forward Anthony Martial Manchester United £6.7m
Total Price – £92,500,000

Manchester United may not be scoring many goals but they concede very few also so once again we’ve chosen Chris Smalling in front of David de Gea in goal. Bournemouth’s Charlie Daniels may be in a side which concedes goals but he’s an all-action player who scoops plenty of points on his own and West Ham’s Aaron Cressell is likewise quite capable.

Yohan Cabaye from Crystal Palace is the only obvious choice for us here among a rather mediocre selection although the impressive Dmitri Payet should return for West Ham against the Cherries. Juan Mata generally scores consistently and we’ve taken a punt on Matt Ritchie from Bournemouth to pick up a few points.

High scoring teams are not in abundance this evening so luck could play a large part; we’ve selected three capable players who all have points-scoring potential – Andy Carroll (West Ham), Jordan Ayew (Aston Villa), Anthony Martial (Man United) – but we’ll just wait and see how it pans out.
