Every day we bring you what we think are some sensible selection options based on today’s upcoming matches; we’re not going to promise that these are guaranteed winners because if we could do that we’d all be millionaires by now. These players are all solid picks based on recent stats and their next opponents so check them out.

Play For Free At Mondogoal

We’re entering Mondogoal’s Global Tuesday Freeroll this evening and it’s a lower league special with some interesting and not-so-interesting ties; there’s also an FA Cup replay between Hartlepool and Salford.

  • Preston North End vs Birmingham City
  • Charlton Athletic vs Bolton Wanderers
  • Queens Park Rangers vs Brighton
  • Hartlepool United vs Salford City
  • MK Dons vs Sheffield Wednesday
  • Huddersfield Town vs Rotherham United
  • Middlesbrough vs Burnley
  • Cardiff City vs Brentford
  • Derby County vs Bristol City
  • Fulham vs Ipswich Town

Our Pick

Goalkeeper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos Middlesbrough £11.1m
Defender Richard Keogh Derby County £9.9m
Defender Stephen Warnock Derby County £10.0m
Defender Adam Jackson Hartlepool United £6.2m
Midfielder Stewart Downing Middlesbrough £10.4m
Midfielder George Thorne Derby County £9.4m
Midfielder Scott Arfield Burnley £6.3m
Midfielder Adam Reach Preston North End £6.2m
Forward Jamie Murphy Brighton £8.5m
Forward Chris Martin Derby County £8.9m
Forward Ross McCormack Fulham £12.9m
Total Price – £100,000,000

Finding a banker is a bit tricky this evening but we feel that Middlesbrough/s home match against Burnley and Derby’s tie against Bristol City should earn some points for the hosts. That being the case we’ve stacked the defence with Keogh and warnock from Derby along with Boro’s keeper Konstantopoulos. Hartlepool host Salford City in the FA Cup replay and this should be another home banker so Adam Jackson makes up the back three.

Boro and Derby are also represented in midfield with Stewart Downing and George Thorne respectively but we’ve picked Scott Arfield from Burnley and Adam Reach from Preston (who host Birmingham) as the cheaper options.

Up front we have three of the highest points-scoring players so far who should collectively gather some rewards. They are Jamie Murphy (Brighton), Chris Martin (Derby) and Ross McCormack (Fulham).
