Every day we bring you what we think are some sensible selection options based on today’s upcoming matches; we’re not going to promise that these are guaranteed winners because if we could do that we’d all be millionaires by now. These players are all solid picks based on recent stats and their next opponents so check them out.

The Premier League takes a break now for a couple of weeks but there’s still plenty of football on in the Champions League and the lower leagues – the latter is what we’re selecting from this evening:

  • Hull City vs Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Blackburn Rovers vs Fulham

Here’s Our Pick:

Goalkeeper Allan McGregor Hull City £9.0m
Defender Andrew Robertson Hull City £8.8m
Defender Bruno Brighton £8.3m
Defender Dan Burn Fulham £6.6m
Midfielder Sam Clucas Hull City £9.4m
Midfielder Dale Stephens Brighton £7.5m
Midfielder Tom Cairney Fulham £8.7m
Midfielder Craig Conway Blackburn £8.0m
Forward Abel Hernandez Hull City £8.1m
Forward Jamie Murphy Brighton £7.6m
Forward Ross McCormack Fulham £11.8m

Hull vs Brighton is a top of the table clash – Hull have won five of the last six while Brighton have won their last four; we like the look of the Hull defence as they’ve conceded just one goal in five matches but there should be plenty of quality on show from both teams.

Blackburn vs Fulham is a much closer to the bottom of the Championship but we feel that Fulham may have turned the corner following their impressive 3 – 1 win away at QPR last weekend.

Hull’s keeper Allan McGregor and his teammate Andrew Robertson form the basis of our defence and they are joined by Brighton’s high-scoring Bruno and Fulham’s Dan Burn.

In midfield we have one consistent scorer from each team to give ourselves a bit of balance -Sam Clucas (Hull), Dale Stephens (Brighton), Tom Cairney (Fulham) and Craig Conway (Blackburn).

Up front we’ve selected three reliable points-earners and they should all see plenty of the ball – Abel Hernandez (Hull City), Jamie Murphy (Brighton) and Ross McCormack (Fulham).
