Every day we bring you what we think are some sensible selection options based on today’s upcoming matches; we’re not going to promise that these are guaranteed winners because if we could do that we’d all be millionaires by now. These players are all solid picks based on recent stats and their next opponents so check them out.

We have two FA Cup replays on Wednesday evening and there are plenty of competitions for various budgets available at Mondogoal. Here’s our entry on what should be a decent evening of footie:

  • Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur
  • Liverpool vs Exeter City

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet Liverpool £6.3m
Defender Kolo Toure Liverpool £7.3m
Defender Christian Fuchs Leicester City £9.7m
Defender Toby Alderweireld Spurs £9.3m
Midfielder Joe Allen Liverpool £7.5m
Midfielder Riyad Mahrez Leicester City £11.2m
Midfielder Danny Drinkwater Leicester City £7.0m
Midfielder Christian Eriksen Spurs £12.0m
Forward Demarai Gray Leicester City £6.2m
Forward Harry Kane Spurs £12.8
Forward Christian Benteke Liverpool £6.8

We’re picking our team ahead of time so it’s a bit of a gamble on Liverpool’s team selection especially but Jurgen Klopp will want to put this match to bed with as few nerves as possible so we expect a strong lineup.

Leicester vs Spurs is the third time these teams have faced each other in ten days with a win for the Foxes and a draw so far – both at White Hart Lane. This time it’s at the King Power Stadium so we think Leicester will edge a tight game and get to face Colchester United in the next round.

Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet in goal and Kolo Toure form the basis for our defence and we’re hedging our best with Leicester’s Christian Fuchs and Spurs’ Toby Alderweireld both in good points-scoring form.

More hedging here as we’ve got one player from each of the Prem teams in our line-up. Joe Allen (Liverpool), Riyad Mahrez (Leicester), Danny Drinkwater (Leicester) and Christian Eriksen (Spurs). There seems very little point including Exeter players in what should be a very one-sided match at Anfield

Harry Kane (Spurs) and Christian Benteke (Liverpool) seem the likely starters for their respective teams and we’ve taken a punt on Leicester new striker Demarai Gray. He looked sharp against Villa and should start against Spurs.
